Gold Coast motorbike rider dies in horror New Year’s Eve crash

A young motorbike rider has died after a horror crash on the northern Gold Coast on New Year’s Eve.

It’s understood the 22-year-old was riding his motorbike along Mill Road in Woongoolba around 9.40pm on Friday when it collided with a sedan.

The Pimpama man suffered significant injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 20-year-old male driver of the car did not sustain any physical injuries.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
