Gold Coast motorcyclist killed in fiery head-on crash with 4WD
A man has tragically died after a horror motorcycle crash on the northern Gold Coast yesterday afternoon.
Police say that the man was travelling along Pimpama Jacobs Well Road in Norwell, when he collided hear on with a 4WD travelling in the other direction.
It happened just before 5.00pm, with emergency services rushing to the scene.
Both vehicles caught fire in the crash, sparking a blaze in nearby grasslands.
Fire fighters were able to contain the flames, while paramedics attended to the drivers.
The 54-year-old Pimpama man sustained significant injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
While the driver of the 4WD, a 49-year-old man, did not sustain serious injury.
The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating.
