Gold Coast motorists urged to AVOID filling up the tank

If you’ve already got a full tank of fuel you’re in luck, if not, expect to fork out the big bucks when filling up the car.

Gold Coasters are today being urged to avoid the petrol bowser if they can, with fuel prices on the rise.

RACQ issued the advice on Thursday morning, writing “We’re entering the expensive phase of the fuel price cycle in Brisbane and on the Gold CoastPlease avoid buying petrol if you can!”

According to the motoring body’s fuel price finder, a fair fuel price on the Gold Coast today is sitting around the $126.3cpl mark.

“Prices are high, so wait if you can,” the advice reads.

However, several servos across the city have already hiked prices up to a whopping 145.9cpl.

The price spike comes amid school holidays in Queensland, with many families hitting the road for getaways across the state.
