A Gold Coast mum has got the shock of her life, learning she is the city’s newest millionaire.
The Ormeau woman was one of three people to score the division on jackpot in last night’s Wednesday Gold Lotto draw, earning herself a whopping $1 million.
When The Lott called her this morning to break the news, she confessed to locking herself in her officer to let the news sink in.

“Oh my god! I’m just in the middle of something. It’s been such a busy day at work. I’ve been smashed this morning,” she told the official.
“Oh my god! I feel a bit sick. It’s good news. I’m so busy, but this interruption is worth it!
“I don’t know what to do! Oh my god! This is life-changing! You have no idea. I can’t believe it.
“Oh my god! I’ve locked my office door so no one can bother me.
“I’m going to have to take an extended tea break to calm down and let the news sink in.
“I’ve been playing on and off for a few years now. I put an entry on sporadically when I feel like it.
“I’ve always told my family I would win one day. I’ve always said I’d be happy with a smaller win like a few hundred thousand dollars.
“But a million dollars! Wow! It’s just crazy. I never thought it would happen.”
When asked how she planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the hard-working woman said it would allow her to take a long-overdue holiday.
“I’m going to help my kids and grandkids!” she declared.
“I’ve never owned my own home, so I’ve never been able to help them own one either, so this will go a long way to giving us all a head start.
“I started working when I was 16, and I’ve never really stopped working. I’ve never been on a real holiday.
“This will be life-changing for all of us for sure!”
