Gold Coast Police launch ‘Dogs on Patrol’ to educate dog walkers about personal safety

This Sunday, October 11, 2015 a new initiative will be launched in the Gold Coast Police District called Dogs on Patrol and is an adaption of a similar program that is already in place at Stafford.

The program is running in conjunction with Neighbourhood Watch, and aims to educate dog walkers about personal safety strategies, and also encourages dog walkers to help keep their communities safe by reporting any suspicious activity they may observe on their walks to police.

This Sunday, the program will be launched at a special Dogs Day Out event.

The public are invited to bring their dogs along to Flooded Gum Park, McAuley Parade, Pacific Pines, from 10am to 1pm to join in on the fun.

There will also be dog competitions and a police dog demonstration on the field at 11.40am.
