Gold Coast Police track down three stolen cars, arrest EIGHT kids

Eight teens under the age of 16 have been arrested after a number of stolen cars were tracked down over the weekend.

Gold Coast police observed an Amorak driving along Maudsland Road in Maudsland just after 4.00 pm yesterday.

PolAir tracked it to Logan where a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed.

A 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were taken into custody and have since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The car was taken from an address on Davies Street at Pacific Pines on September 4.

A short time later, police spotted a Mazda 3, a Kia Stinger and a Tiguan coming down the M1 to the Gold Coast.

They were able to track the Stinger to a service station along Siganto Drive in Helensvale, where two kids fled on foot.

The 13-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were tracked down shortly after and arrested. Both have been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

The Mazda was also stopped with a tyre deflation device along Siganto Drive, where four kids tried to run from the vehicle.

A 15-year-old girl, a 15-year-old boy, a 14-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy have all be charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

All eight teens will front Children’s Court at some point. At least six of them were refused bail.
