The Gold Coast preparing to bring in the New Year with a bang
The Gold Coast is being promised a New Years fireworks display ‘like no other’ as final preparations are made ahead of the big night.
Surfers Paradise will host the Gold Coast’s largest display with three separate shows.
The beach will come alive at 8pm and again when the clock strikes midnight, while a special family show will be held in the riverside precinct at 10pm.
The foreshore will also host rides and other fun activities for kids between 3pm and 9pm.
This year’s theme is ‘Green and Gold’ with more than 50,000 pyrotechnic effects using five tonnes of fireworks.
It’s not the only fireworks display being held on the Gold Coast with shows being held from Coolangatta to Ormeau. Here’s the full list:

North Kirra SLSC: 7.30pm
Currumbin RSL: midnight
Varsity Lakes: 8.30pm
Broadbeach, Kurrawa Park: 9pm
Surfers Paradise Beach: 8pm and midnight
Surfers Paradise Riverside: 10pm
Broadwater Parklands: 9pm
Paradise Point Parklands: 9pm
Ormeau, Brien Harris Oval: 9pm
