Gold Coast Private Hospital to open in 2016
CONSTRUCTION of the $230 million Gold Coast Private Hospital is reportedly ahead of schedule.
Located next to the Gold Coast University Hospital, the 284-bed facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2015 and open to patients from early 2016.
The Bulletin reports, the construction of facility is well underway, with the pilings now erected and the concrete slabs poured for the basement and ground levels.
The hospital will include a 24 hour Emergency Care Centre, 13 operating theatres, a cardiac catheterisation lab and a hybrid theatre, intensive care, maternity, paediatrics and special care nursery and the site will be supported by providers of imaging, pharmacy and pathology services.
The facility will also be able to expand to 400 beds and 21 theatres if required.
