MORE than 400 Gold Coasters are reportedly at risk of being made homeless after failing to pay their rates.
According to The Bulletin, The City of Gold Coast is considering taking action over $1.6 million in unpaid water and city charges.
The Governance and Finance Committee yesterday voted to auction off several properties in a bid to recoup rates.

It’s believed the properties, which are located across the city, owe council between $5000-$10,000 each.
Unpaid water rates make up the bulk of the properties on the chopping block.
Each property approved will be listed for sale within three months of Friday’s full council meeting, when the committee’s vote will be confirmed.
