VISION RELEASED in relation to early morning attempted burglary, Gold Coast

UPDATE @4.00pm | Police have released footage of a man they want to speak to, in relation to an attempted burglary and wounding incident in Carrara overnight.

The CCTV footage was captured after an alleged petrol drive off that happened overnight as well.

It’s understood three men were involved in the attempted burglary, which saw a father and son hospitalised, before fleeing in a red 2008 Peugot 207 convertible.


Police say the getaway car had allegedly been stolen from an address at Moray Court, Benowa, sometime between 6.00pm on Friday December 13 and 8.00am on Saturday December 14.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact police immediately.

Investigations continue.

EARLIER @ 7.00AM | A father and son have been attacked with weapons after confronting three men who tried to steal their car from a home on the Gold Coast early this morning.

Police say that around 2.00am, the residents were woken by noises outside their home on Meadowlake Drive in Carrara.

A 23-year-old man went outside to find a man attempting to steal his family’s blue 2017 Hyundai i30 hatchback.

His 48-year-old father also ran outside and located two other men in a red vehicle nearby.

The residents confronted the trio and a fight broke out, resulting in the father and son being assaulted with weapons.

The 23-year-old received a laceration to his neck and the 48-year-old received a laceration to his forearm and forehead.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC both men were transported in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital.

All three men fled in a red 2008 Peugot 207 convertible, which had been stolen from a home on Moray Court in Benowa, sometime between 6.00pm on Friday December 13 and 8.00am on Saturday December 14.

Investigations continue.
