Gold Coast residents chase off armed robber who gets away on electric scooter

A man’s been charged over a botched armed robbery on the Gold Coast overnight.

The 32-year-old man allegedly broke into a home along Richmond Avenue in Bundall just after 2.00 am.

However, the residents awoke and chased the man outside before he produced a knife and fled on an electric scooter from the property.


Police were called in, where they were able to track the man down nearby and arrest him.

He’s facing one count of burglary, one of armed robbery, and one of possessing a dangerous drug and will front Southport court today.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
