Police are on the hunt for a thief following a violent robbery in Parkwood, which saw a man’s foot run over by his own vehicle.

According to detectives, a man broke into a home on Woodstock Court around 11pm last night, threatening the resident before grabbing his car keys.

“The resident then armed himself with a baseball bat and attempted to stop the man driving off,” Queensland Police said.

“Following a short struggle, the occupant struck his vehicle with the bat, causing the driver’s side mirror to fall off and the windscreen to break.”

The man fled in the vehicle, running over the resident’s foot, causing a “significant and serious injury”.

The vehicle, a black 2007 Holden Captiva station wagon,  was found abandoned on Chichester Drive at Arundel around 1am.

Investigators are appealing for any residents or businesses in Parkwood and Arundel to come forward with relevant CCTV or dashcam.

The man is described as pacific islander in appearance with a solid build, wearing a navy blue cap and surgical mask.

Investigations continue.
