Gold Coast residents to have say on future of Coolangatta, Kirra

Gold Coast Council is calling for locals to have their say on the future of the southern Gold Coast.

The Coolangatta and Kirra Masterplan is underway, which will endeavour to consult with local residents as much as possible.

Therefore, residents have until April 15 to complete a survey over the south coast’s future.

The aim of the masterplan is to improve public space in a way that will enhance the lifestyle for residents and visitors.

It will also focus on improving how the community experiences public spaces and streetscape in Coolangatta and Kirra.

Division 14 Councillor, Gail O’Neill, says the masterplan is the best way to shape the area.

“People love the iconic nature of Coolangatta and Kirra.

“This is your chance to make your views known.

“Once we have everyone’s opinion, Council can determine what is best for the area and I can start to seek annual budget funding to address the outcomes of the consultation,” Councillor O’Neill said.
