Gold Coast retiree revved up after lottery win

A RETIRED Gold Coast woman said her husband is keen to buy a ute after she won the lottery.

The excited winner said she was stunned when she discovered she’d won a division one Super 66 prize worth $57,266.85 in the weekend’s draw.

“I usually check my Saturday Gold Lotto and Super 66 entry on Sunday but yesterday I didn’t get the chance,” the winner explained.

“So this morning I checked the results in the newspaper. I saw that I had two numbers and thought that I might have won $6.60. When I realised I’d won division one, I couldn’t believe it!”

When asked what she might do with her $57,000 Super 66 windfall, the happy winner said she wasn’t sure but her husband had already put in his request.

“He said he’d like to buy a ute!” she laughed.

The winning Super 66 entry was purchased from Benowa Gardens Newsagency, Shop 39 in Benowa Gardens Shopping Centre, corner Ashmore and Benowa Roads in Benowa.

This is the third division one winning entry Benowa Gardens Newsagency has sold in less than 12-months.

In April 2013, the newsagency sold a division one winning entry in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3309 worth more than $2 million, and in November it sold a first division winning ticket in The Pools draw 1478 worth more than $285,000.

The winning numbers in Super 66 draw 3397 on Saturday 8 February, 2014 were 9, 7, 2, 6, 8 and 9.

Super 66 is an add-on game played with Saturday Gold Lotto, Monday and Wednesday Gold Lotto, Oz Lotto, Powerball and The Pools.
