Gold Coast retiree’s $1.3 million surprise

A GOLD Coast woman got the shock of her life today when she discovered she’d been a millionaire for more than a week.

The retiree won a first division share in Saturday’s Gold Lotto worth $1,336,135.16 in draw 3419 on April 26.

“Oh heavens! I’m glad I’m sitting down,” the winner exclaimed. “Could you please repeat that amount again? I can’t believe my luck!”

Despite registering her ticket to a Winners Circle card, the shocked winner didn’t know she’d been a millionaire for 11 days because officials had been unable to contact her to tell her the amazing news.

“I’ve always dreamt about what things I’d buy and what I’d do if I won Gold Lotto but I never seriously thought I would! This is unbelievable!”

The overwhelmed winner said it was too early to say what she might do with her million dollar windfall but was looking forward to taking a dream holiday.

The winning 12-game QuickPick was purchased at the Lucky Dragon Newsagency in Southport’s Australia Fair Shopping Centre.

Throughout Australia, there were three entries that won a first division share in the Saturday Gold Lotto draw on 26 April each worth $1,336,135.16.

There was one winning entry from Queensland; the other two winning entries were sold in South Australia and Western Australia.

The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 3419 were 24, 32, 45, 20, 12 and 39 with the supplementary numbers of 29 and 3.

There are still chances to win big this week with $6 million up for grabs in tomorrow’s Powerball draw and Oz Lotto has jackpotted to a GIANT $15 million for next Tuesday’s draw.

Tickets are now on sale from all Golden Casket outlets and online from
