Gold Coast road blocked as crews rescue teen from car crash

Two teens have been hospitalised after a nasty single-car crash on the Gold Coast early this morning.

Emergency services were called to Tamborine Oxenford Road in Wongawallan around 5.00 am, following reports of the incident.

A car had left the road and crashed down an embankment, trapping two people in the vehicle.

A male in his late teens was able to get himself out, while a female in her late teens had to be cut out by emergency services.

Paramedics assessed her for a leg injury, while the male appeared uninjured.

Both were taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.

The incident prompted police to close the road for a short time this morning, disrupting local motorists.

It’s understood the road is still blocked off at the time of writing.
