Gold Coast school confirms new case of Covid-19, testing site to be set up

A state school on the Gold Coast has asked all students to stay home for the final day of the year, after a positive Covid-19 case was confirmed.

The Broadbeach State School has texted all parents and staff this morning saying that “all will need to be tested today”.

“There has now been a confirmed infectious case of Covid-19 at Broadbeach SS,” the text reads.

“Please keep your child and your household members isolated at home.

“All will need to be tested today.

“We are trying to set up a testing site at the school today. More info to follow” the text reads.

The same message is being played to people trying to call the school for more information.

It comes as a café in Currumbin posted to Instagram saying they had also been exposed on two separate occasions this week and are now closed while staff get tested.
