Gold Coast set to sizzle through an early taste of Summer

Get ready to blast the air conditioning and fans today Gold Coasters – it’s set to be a hot one.

The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting temperatures will reach a stinking 32 degrees across the Coast.

Tops will get up to around 35 degrees in areas like Nerang and Coomera.


The warmer temperatures are expected to hang around across Tuesday and Wednesday but will drop down at around 26 on Thursday.

The early touch of summer across Queensland has caused some issues for firefighters, who are closely monitoring a bushfire that damaged at least one home and threatened others near Townsville.

Some residents fled their homes yesterday afternoon as one house was overrun by flames from the Cape Cleveland fire.

Some sheds were also lost but firefighters say their concerns have eased.

The Bureau has listed the fire dangers on the Gold Coast as ‘very high’.
