NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo said Smith and Slater were two of Queensland’s greatest players and had been a key part of the Maroons’ successful dynasty.
“They have created history together and we want to provide both players a fitting tribute and give Queenslanders and all fans of the game the chance to farewell their heroes.
“It will be great to have homegrown Queensland artist Amy Shark perform for this special occasion.”
Our very own Amy Shark will open the night, with her performance accompanying the Captains tribute, and said she was thrilled to be asked to be part of the celebration.
“I’ve watched Origin since I was in primary school so playing Suncorp Stadium for Origin Three is going to be incredibly special for me,” she said.
“My mum and dad are going to be extremely happy.”
The homegrown singer-songwriter will release her highly anticipated debut record, Love Monster, on July 13.
Trains and buses will be free for fans travelling to and from the Game between midday until midnight.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to catch the pre-game entertainment.
