The southern Gold Coast suburb officially recorded its coldest August morning ever on Wednesday!
At 5.05am, temperatures plummeted to a freezing cold low of just 0.5 degrees, which is the coldest August morning on record and the third coldest start ever, the Bureau of Meteorology confirmed.

Canungra residents also found themselves reaching for an extra blanket, with the mercury dropping to an icy -2.6 degrees around the same time.
West of the coast, Beaudesert plummeted to -1.4 degrees at 5am, while Warwick dropped to -2.6 at 5.30am.
At the time of writing (7.30am), the Gold Coast Seaway was a little warmer at 12.4C.
The temps are expected to rise this morning, with an expected top of 21 degrees predicted for today.
