Gold Coast Suns game put off, as AFL considers Melbourne crowds

The Gold Coast Suns’ AFL match this weekend has been impacted by Melbourne’s coronavirus outbreak.

We were supposed to be headed north to Darwin to take on Hawthorn on Saturday night.

However, due to the restrictions imposed on Melbourne’s AFL teams, Hawthorn isn’t able to leave the city in time.

The match has been put off for now and will be rescheduled.

Both the Suns and the Hawks were due to have a bye next week, so that’s just been moved forward a week.

Meantime, the AFL is yet to make a commitment to crowd numbers for this weekend’s matches.

An official announcement is expected after today’s Covid-19 numbers are revealed.

As it stands, round 11 will start tomorrow with a top of the table clash between the Bulldogs and Melbourne in front of a crowd at Marvel stadium.
