The Gold Coast Suns and Metricon Homes have extended their long-running partnership until the end of 2022.
The announcement comes as the Suns prepare for their first home game of the 2019 season at Metricon Stadium.
The partnership, which has been in place since the Suns entered the competition in 2011, will see Metricon retain the naming rights to Metricon Stadium.

Gold Coast Suns CEO Mark Evans says it’s fantastic news for the club and for the community.
“Metricon Homes have been with the Suns since our inception and we’re going into our ninth year together. They’ve been a wonderful partner,” Mr Evans said.
“They’ve become Australia’s most trusted home builder and we’re delighted to be in partnership with them.”
Evans says Metricon Homes has become synonymous with the Gold Coast.
“One of the things that makes us smile that this venue that we’re at is not referred to as Metricon Stadium, but Metricon, just Metricon and you know when it’s got that name inside of the community that it’s really working and people really understand what this venue is and who supports it.”
“Sport, and AFL, in particular, transcends so many cultures and communities,’ Mr Biasin said
“It’s part of Australia’s DNA. Metricon is proud to have been side-by-side with the SUNS since 2011, forging a grass-roots partnership that promotes the community and family connections synonymous with both of our brands.”
Mr Biasin says there are plenty of synergies between Metricon and the Suns.
“When I started with our business some 20 odd years ago, we were a small suburban builder in Melbourne building around 250 homes a year. Today we’re the largest builder in Australia.
“It’s taken us over 40 years to get to where we are today and when you think about the Suns, they’re nine years old, so I think we need to be patient and we’re really confident the club’s in great hands.”
