Gold Coast surfer dads a hit with MKR judges and viewers

GOLD Coasters are getting behind local ‘surfer dads’ Paul and Blair on the new series of My Kitchen Rules.

The teachers made a (mostly) good impression on the judges and guests at their instant restaurant, Swell, during episode three last night.

The pair started strong with salt and pepper quail, receiving a 9 and 10 from judges Pete Evans and Manu Feidel, describing it as “cooked to perfection”.


Things went slightly downhill during the main course of spicy Indonesian chicken curry…

The chicken thigh pieces were cut too small and the dish ended up being dry.

For dessert: rum chocolate pots described by Manu as “too rich”.

Paul and Blair ended up with scores above 6 and 7 for the main and dessert and are now second on the leaderboard after three instant restaurants.
