Gold Coast swimmer Cam McEvoy has produced a stirring performance at the FINA World Championships in Kazan on Sunday night coming from fourth position to finish in second.
McEvoy was swimming the freestyle anchor in the 4x100m medley and jumped in the pool with his team in fourth position.
In one of the most thrilling races, the Aussie chased US Olympic champion Nathan Adrian all the way to the finish coming in only 0.15s behind him to claim the silver medal.

Also on the final night of the World Championships, Queenslander Bronte Campbell surprised herself by winning the 50m freestyle event.
Fellow Gold Coast swimmer, Thomas Fraser Holmes, finished 10th in the men’s 400m Individual Medley.
