Gold Coast teen accused of armed robbery to stay behind bars

A Gold Coast teenager accused of armed robbery, stealing two cars and leading police on a dangerous chase has been remanded in custody.

Southport Magistrates Court heard Boady James Davis has a criminal history, which relates to the offences he’s accused of, and that he presents an unacceptable risk to commit offences again.

The Magistrate clarified the bail was denied on “circumstantial” police evidence, and if there isn’t strong enough evidence Daivs would be allowed to re-apply for bail.

Police accuse Davis of breaking into a home in Biggera Waters, before grabbing a knife and threatening the occupants while demanding money.

It’s alleged he then took two cars from the property before avoiding police and driving one of the cars, which had caught alight, into a fence at Keebra Park.

His co-accused, a 17-year-old man is facing charges of unlawful use of motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.
