Gold Coast teens arrested over stolen car joyride

THREE teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly took a stolen car on a joyride across the Gold Coast.

Police first spotted the stolen Volkswagon Amarok travelling in Pacific Pines on Monday night, observing it as it travelled through Ormeau into Upper Coomera.

Officers did not attempt to intercept the vehicle, instead following it to an address in Upper Coomera.


The stolen car and two 13-year-old girls and a 14-year-old boy were located outside the home around 8pm and taken into custody.

One of the girls has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle. She was refused bail ahead of a court appearance.

The other girl was charged with four counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence and one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, receiving tainted property, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and unlawful possession of restricted drugs (Pantoprazole). Her bail was also refused.

Investigations into the 14-year-old boy are continuing.
