Gold Coast teens charged over stolen car chase

Two teenagers have been charged with a string of offences after allegedly leading police on a chase in a luxury stolen car.

It started just after 4.30pm on Tuesday, when the owner of a stolen white Audi Q5 spotted the vehicle travelling through Pacific Pines.

The owner contacted police, who attempted to stop the car before it evaded officers and continued travelling along the M1 into Coomera.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC officers on the ground called in the help of PolAir, who tracked the car all the way to Pimpama.

The pair then dumped the vehicle on Caravan Court before trying to make a run for it.

The two teens, including a 15-year-old Ormeau Hills boy and 14-year-old Pacific Pines boy, were taken into custody by police in nearby Analaby Drive around 5.30pm.

They have since been charged with a raft of offences including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, supply dangerous drugs, possess dangerous drugs, and receiving tainted property.

Both have been police bail refused.

Police confirmed the vehicle was stolen from a home on Palladian Drive in Hope Island on October 11.
