Gold Coast Titans lose fullback to injury ahead of Storm clash

A huge blow for the Gold Coast Titans overnight, with the club confirming they’ll be without their star fullback when they face the ladder leaders this week.

AJ Brimson’s been ruled out with a hairline fracture to his jaw which he suffered in last weekend’s game against the Rabbitohs.

It’s still not clear exactly how bad the injury is and how long it could rule him out for.

He’s undergoing further tests this week to see if he’ll need surgery.

“AJ has been to see a surgeon today and we are now waiting for further information,” Gold Coast High-Performance Manager Klint Hoare said.

It’s widely tipped that Jayden Campbell will return to the side instead after he recovered an ankle injury.

“Jayden is fully fit and ready to go if selected,” Hoare said.

“He’s recovered really well from an ankle injury that he had and has been back to full fitness for a few weeks now.”

In some good news for the club, they’ve been able to secure a contract extension for Greg Marzhew for another two years.

The 24-year-old winger is now locked in until the end of the 2023 season.
