Gold Coast Titans through to finals for first time in 5 years

The Gold Coast Titans are now preparing for finals footy for the first time in five years, after an absolute thrashing of the Warriors yesterday.

The side only needed to win by 11 points to secure their spot in the eight, after results from two other games went our way this weekend.

We’d already achieved that by halftime, with a 16-nil lead. But the Titans defied all expectations to down the New Zealand side 44-nil at full time in front of a roaring Cbus stadium.

Young gun Jayden Campbell is once again being praised for an incredible performance.

“Earlier in the year he’d train against us and do some pretty special things against our first-grade side,” Holbrook said post-match.

“I knew whenever he got the chance he’d be ready for it.

“It’s important for us not to put a lot of pressure on him.

“He’s just such a natural instinctive type of player … he had a great game. It’s great to have him getting experience at this level and also playing as well as he is.”

There were a couple of tussles on the field as well, which saw Warriors Jazz Tevaga, Kane Evans and Matt Lodge all sin-binned.

Titans prop Jarrod Wallace was sent off at one point as well.

The Titans now prepare for a sudden-death clash against the Roosters this Saturday, which will be played up in Townsville.
