Gold Coast to host first ever Business Week in May

Gold Coast business owners, professionals and entrepreneurs will come together to share ideas and help shape the future of our city next month.

The first ever Gold Coast Business Week will be held from May 14 to 18, with a number of workshops, seminars and networking opportunities scheduled across the five day event.

Mayor Tom Tate said the aim of the week is to ensure the city does not suffer with a post Games economic hangover.

“The way ahead for our city is doing what we do best – but with a difference, and making sure we leverage off the legacy of Games,” he said.

“Business leaders, large and small, are our future, so we need to ensure they have the support needed so they can continue to drive the city economy.”

One of the highlight events during the week will be the ‘Gold Coast Way Ahead’ forum, hosted by City of Gold Coast and Myriad – Australia’s Leading Innovation Festival.

The forum will feature some of the world’s most influential entrepreneurs and tech experts who will share their thoughts on how to capitalise on the legacy of the Games and the way ahead for businesses in the digital age.

Other events scheduled include a Restaurant Industry Lunch, Speed Pitching Workshop and a Communication Forum, to name a few.
