GOLD COAST TRAFFIC: Monday March 31, 2014 – 3.00pm to 6pm.

5.50pm: HEADS UP – Starting tonight, electrical work will be undertaken on Beaudesert-Nerang Road at the intersection of McLaren Road between 7pm and 5am, Sunday to Thursday (some weekend work may be required). Changed traffic conditions and reduced speed limits will be in place. Please allow extra travel time, follow road work signage and observe the reduced speed limit through the work zone.

5.20pm: SOUTHPORT – Slow moving westbound on Smith Street, from around Olsen Ave onwards.

4.45pm: BENOWA – Reports of a dangerous driver in a 1996 black BMW sedan, driving erratically along Edinburgh Road and surrounding streets. Believed to be driving at high speed and “hooning”. Police are patrolling. Caution advised to both pedestrians and motorists in this area.

4.40pm: There are currently no reports of any major incidents or accidents to report, other than the usual slow movements through the roadworks around Mudgeeraba/Worongary on the M1.

4.20pm: SOUTHPORT – Reports of debris on the Smith Street Motorway, near the Olsen Avenue overpass, heading westbound.

4.10pm: WORONGARY – Reports of an obstruction/debris on the M1 adjacent to the on-ramp at Exit 75, heading northbound.

3.38pm: NERANG – Reports a car has just blown a tyre around Exit 73 on the M1, heading north. Caution to those in this area.

3.30pm: RUNAWAY BAY – Speed Camera located on Lae Drive, heading westbound.

3.20pm: A fairly good afternoon run down from Brisbane on the M1, with no major incidents to watch out for.

3.18pm: Speed Camera located on Bermuda Street outside Bond University, heading north.

3.08pm: ELANORA – An elderly man has been spotted riding his motorised scooter on the Pacific Motorway (M1) near Elanora. Last seen heading southbound on the northern side between Exits 93 and 94. Caution to motorists in this area.
