GOLD Coast traffic reports – Friday, March 7, 2014 (3.30pm – 6pm)

5.55pm: Still very slow moving southbound from around CARRARA to PALM BEACH. Traffic is gradually picking up speed southbound between COOMERA and SMITH STREET (Exit 66).

5.33pm: Unfortunately, it’s going to be a slow trip for motorists heading south on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon/evening. Slow moving from around COOMERA down to PALM BEACH.

5.20pm: Reports of a nose-to-tail traffic accident on the Pacific Motorway, southbound, near BURLEIGH EXIT.

4.58pm: Pacific Motorway southbound traffic now banking up again from SMITH STREET (Exit 66) – right back to COOMERA. ALSO, motorway traffic heading south from NERANG to PALM BEACH facing extensive delays.

4.53pm: Very slow heading south on the Pacific Motorway from HELENSVALE to SMITH STREET (Exit 66).

4.51pm: Car vs. motorbike accident on Palm Beach Ave, PALM BEACH has been CLEARED.

4.40pm: Traffic beginning to pick up speed between COOMERA and HELENSVALE. Earlier reports had traffic travelling at around 35km/h.

4.35pm: Southbound traffic on the Pacific Motorway remains congested. Very heavy from CARRARA south to TALLEBUDGERA. Also delays from around COOMERA south to around the SMITH STREET (Exit 66).

4.20pm: Traffic bumper-to-bumper heading southbound on the Pacific Motorway from aruond COOMERA. Reports traffic is currently sitting at around 35km/h.

3.58pm: Reports of a traffic accident with injury on the corner of Scarborough & Short Streets, SOUTHPORT.

3.52pm: Paramedics heading to the scene of a traffic accident in the area around the corner of Franklin Drive and Gold Coast – Springbrook Road, MUDGEERABA.

There are reports children on pushbikes have been involved. Injuries initially stated as bruises and abrasions. Traffic control requested.

3.50pm: Reports of a four vehicle traffic crash heading southbound on the Pacific Motorway near TALLEBUDGERA (Exit 87)

3.33pm: Reports of a car vs. motorbike on Palm Beach Ave, PALM BEACH. Delays being experienced in this area.
