Gold Coast trams back in action after power failure

UPDATE @ 8.45am: Gold Coast trams have resumed in both directions following an earlier communications outage.

G:Link services between GCUH and Broadbeach South stations were brought to a halt around 7.15am.

Translink advised on their website that the issue has since been resolved.

Delays of just 5 minutes are being experienced.

EARLIER @ 7.15am: Gold Coast trams have been brought to a halt this morning due to a “network power failure”.

Translink advised customers of the issue via their website.

“G:link services suspended both directions between GCUH and Broadbeach South stations due to a network power failure,” they wrote.

“As a result, the following service has been cancelled: The 6.45am southbound GCUH to Broadbeach South Station tram”.

Technicians are currently on site working to fix the problem and replacement buses have been arranged.

Customers are being told to expect delays of up to 30 minutes.
