Gold Coast woman accused of ramming police cars

A man and woman have been charged accused of failing to stop for Police and ramming several other cars, two of them police cars across the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Around 12:15pm police tried to stop a vehicle on Nerang Street in Southport.

It will be alleged the vehicle failed to stop and headed north.


The vehicle was spotted in the carpark of a bottle shop on Heathwood Drive in Oxenford at about 12:50pm.

Police say when they approached, the driver rammed three vehicles, including two police cars before accelerating down Heathwood Drive.

The vehicle was located abandoned on Fawn Street in Upper Coomera.

A 35 year-old Helensvale woman has been issued a Notice to Appear for unlicensed driving, and driving an unregistered vehicle.

A 26-year-old Gold Coast man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, fail to comply with duties of a driver involved in a crash, unlicensed driving disqualified by a court, unregistered driving, fail to stop motor vehicle, possess tainted property, possess anything for use in a commission of a crime, possess restricted drug, stealing, burglary and commit and indictable offence, assault or obstruct police and two counts each of offences involving registration plates, possess dangerous drug, enter premises and commit and three counts of receiving tainted property.

He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Anzac Day.

Investigations are continuing.
