A Helensvale woman admits she’s still in shock after winning almost $1 million in Saturday’s Gold Lotto.
The Gold Coast retiree was one of seven people across the country who took out division one in the weekend draw, with each person taking home a decent $928,717.17.
When speaking with an official from The Lott this morning, the lucky woman said she has always dreamed of one day winning the lottery.

“It’s just starting to sink in… We checked the ticket yesterday at the newsagency and we couldn’t believe it!” the woman said.
“We’ve been playing for such a long time, so to have a win like this is unreal.
“You hope and you dream but you never really think it will happen to you!”
When asked how she thought she might enjoy her division one windfall, the Gold Coast woman said it had arrived at a great time.
“We’re both retired so we will certainly be able to enjoy this throughout our retirement,” she explained.
“My husband has a few projects in mind that he’s finally going to get done! We can’t wait!”
