Gold Coast woman’s husband linked to Al Qaeda

The husband of a Gold Coast woman killed in Syria last week has been linked to Al Qaeda.

Amira Karroum and her husband Yusuf Ali became victims of the Syrian civil war when they were gunned down in a house in Aleppo last week.

The last Amira’s family heard was that their daughter was travelling to Denmark with friends over Christmas before heading off to do humanitarian work.

It is thought that the couple may have been killed by members of the Free Syrian Army.

Yusuf Ali, who actually grew up in Queensland under the name Tyler Casey was allegedly recruited to join the fight in the country’s civil war.

It has since been revealed Ali was enlisted by a Sydney man to work with a terrorist group.
