Gold Coaster charged after wild police chase in alleged stolen car

A Gold Coast man has been charged with multiple offences, after allegedly leading police on a wild chase in a stolen car.

Polair first spotted the white Toyota Camry driving erratically and dangerously through Biggera Waters around 3.45pm yesterday.

Police will allege the car, believed to be stolen from Helensvale on August 20, was cutting off other vehicles, running a red light, and hitting a stationary car.

The car was then see entering an underground carpark on Cotlew Street in Ashmore, before a 32-year-old man tried to flee on foot.

The Robina man was arrested by police at 4.05pm, and has since been charged with 10 offences relating to the incident, as well as multiple incidents from earlier this month.

He’ll face Southport court today with on count of dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving without a licence, possessing dangerous drugs, two counts of entering a premises to commit an indictable offence and three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
