Gold Coaster hospitalised after throwing accelerant on a backyard fire

A man’s been hospitalised with multiple burns injuries as a  result of a backyard fire on the northern Gold Coast overnight.

Emergency services were called to a home in Coomera around 11.30 pm following reports of the blaze.

It’s understood an accelerant may have been used on the flames, which caused a man in his 30s to get burned.

Paramedics say they briefly assessed him for injuries to his face, neck and arms at the scene.

He was then taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.

He’s believed to be in a stable condition.
