Gold Coasters endure wet, wintery conditions

SHOWERS and cold temperatures have dominated the weather on the Gold Coast today.

The mercury has struggled to climb above 20 degrees, despite a top of 23 forecast.

At 3.30pm, it was just 19.2 degrees on the beach.

Onshore showers have delivered close to 10mm to the Gold Coast Seaway since 7.30am. Coolangatta has recorded 5.8mm.

Further partly cloudy conditions and scattered coastal showers are likely on each day for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

Daytime temps are expected to remain around 25 degrees, with overnight lows of 16-17 predicted.
