FOR the first time, Gold Coasters have been given the chance to influence how the council’s budget will be spent.
It will be the city’s largest ever community consultation, allowing more than 550,000 residents to rate council’s performance and list the services that matter most to them through an online survey covering more than 25 topics.
Mayor Tom Tate said the community feedback would shape the budget and it was important that everyone’s view was represented.

A printed copy of the survey will also be available in council libraries.
The $1.1 billion budget is set to be handed down on June 18.
