Will.i.am turns for Gold Coast teen’s Voice

ANOTHER Gold Coast singing sensation has made it through the blind auditions of The Voice Australia.

Jacob Lee, 19, wowed the crowd with his rendition of Guy Sebastian’s Battle Scars during Sunday nights show in front of a televised audience of more than two million people.

His audition earned him a spot in the competition with judge Will.i.am turning his chair within the first few seconds of the audition.

The teen is the second local to move through to the battle rounds after singer, song-writer and mother-of-two Candice Skjonnemand, 27, scored a place on Team Kylie Minogue with her rendition of Adele’s Turning Tables last week.

Gold Coaster Jayde Grey, 19, is yet to audition with her rendition of Tom Petty’s Free Fallin’.

The blind auditions continue tonight.
