Gold Coasters woke to freezing cold temperatures, the coldest its been all year.
Coolangatta residents found themselves reaching for an extra blanket with the mercury dropping to an icy 6.5 degrees at 6.30am, while the airport reached a year-low of 6.2 degrees, the Bureau confirmed.
It was a slightly warmer 8.6 degrees at the Gold Coast Seaway around the same time.
Just northwest of the coast, Beaudesert locals shivered through just 2Â degrees at 7.00am, while Warwick dropped to a low of -1.9 at 5.00am.
At the time of writing (8.10am), the Gold Coast was still in single digit temperatures at just 9C.
We’re being told to make the most of the sunny skies however, with rain predicted from Saturday.
