Gold Coasters wake to blustery morning
GOLD Coasters have woken to a blustery morning as the city is buffeted by strong southeasterly winds.
It was 19.9C at the Seaway at 6.30am, but with fresh onshore winds gusting at near 60km/h, it felt more like 13C.
Winds have been gusting at more than 50km/h since about 11pm last night.
The mercury is forecast to peak at around 23C in Surfers, Nerang and Coomera today – 22C at Coolangatta.

It’ll be cooler again tomorrow though, with tops of just 21C forecast right across the Coast.
A strong wind warning is current for the Coast from Mackay to the NSW border.
A Hazardous Surf Warning has also been issued and will extend into the weekend.
