Gold Coasters warned of ‘Oceanway Ride’ road closures this weekend

Gold Coast motorists are being reminded of road closures due to the 2017 Oceanway Ride this Saturday.

The event involves bicycle riders heading on two courses, one south to Point Danger and the other west to Eagle Heights.

Gold Coast police say the event is expected to be conducted with minimum disruption to traffic, however urged motorists to be mindful of the road closures on the day.

Road interruptions on Saturday September 9, 2017:

• The Esplanade, Surfers Paradise will be closed to traffic between the Soul Building and Hanlan Street, Surfers Paradise from 3am to 1pm that day. Diversions will be in place,that may cause delays and traffic congestion.

• Traffic controllers will be on site stopping vehicles entering and leaving The Spit between Muriel Henchman Park and Doug Jennings Park during the hours of 6am and 7.30am. One lane will be utilised for both directions of travel.
