A Local Fire Ban is now in place across the southeast, including on the Gold Coast, Logan and the Scenic Rim.
From today right through until 11.59pm Friday, 6 September, the ban is in place and all permits are cancelled.
This means no lighting of fires at all, and the use of extra precaution is encouraged for those using equipment that could spark grass fires.

The ban’s been put in place to due hot and dry conditions over the coming days, which will see fire danger ratings soar.
Other areas across the southeast that will also be covered by the Local Fire Ban include Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer Valley, Logan and the Scenic Rim.
Locals are being urged to contact 000 immediately if they see any fires that are not be attended by fire trucks.
