Those with breathing difficulties are being warned that the air quality on the Gold Coast has dropped significantly overnight.
It seems the smoke and dust haze crossing the coast this morning has caused an ‘unhealthy’ rating for the air quality – particularly those who are more sensitive.
The Bureau has also warned that the smoke haze could hang around for a good part of the day.
Meantime, the bush fire danger has dropped back to a ‘very high’ rating from yesterday’s ‘severe’ rating.
Though it’s expected to increase again before the weekend.
According to the Real-time Air Quality Index (AQI), the air quality will improve slightly for today and tomorrow, before also worsening into the weekend.
For the rest of today the Gold Coast can expect sunny conditions, with light winds.
