Gold Coast’s alleged ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ bank robbers to remain behind bars

The Gold Coast’s own Bonnie and Clyde will remain behind bars until their next court appearances, after their cases were mentioned today.

30-year-old Darren Michael Baxter and 22-year-old Shayde Hodgson-Gulson are accused of robbing a Burleigh Waters bank at gunpoint last Thursday.

They’ve each been charged with armed robbery, while Baxter is also facing dangerous drug possession and dangerous drug utensils charges.

Both cases were mentioned at Southport court today for the first time.

Baxter wasn’t required to appear in the dock, though Hodgson-Gulson was there.

It’s understood no bail applications were made.

Both Baxter and Hodgson-Gulson will remain in custody until their cases return to court next month.

Baxter’s case was adjourned until October 31, and Hodgson-Gulson will return on October 24.
