Gold Coast’s ‘Mower Man’ sets off for Bravehearts fundraiser
Tireless Gold Coast fundraising champion, Claude Harvey has begun his latest trek for child protection advocate Bravehearts.
The 73-year-old, who has spent the past 12-years pushing his trusty lawn mower around Australia, raising more than $1 million, set off from Tweed Heads on Monday morning.
He left the Queensland-New South Wales border and headed north to Hope Island, pushing ‘Moyra the Mower’ and rattling his collection tin.
As part of his annual pilgrimage, the ‘Mower Man’ will take two weeks to walk approximately 100km to the northern Gold Coast and back again.
Mr Harvey recently returned from North Queensland, where he collected another $20,000 over three weeks, walking the streets of small towns, raising money and awareness for Bravehearts.
