The Gold Coast Mayor is calling on the Queensland Premier to step-in and prevent GOLDOC bosses from getting fat bonuses following the Commonwealth Games.
Five executives will reportedly pocket at least $100,000, simply for not jumping ship prior to this month’s event.
Mayor Tom Tate has labelled the move “staggering” saying it will leave a sour taste in the mouth of every Queenslander.

“I’m astounded that people are getting paid just for doing their job,” Cr Tate said.
The Games have been hailed as a success, after sporting records were broken and stands were packed full of spectators.
But organisers did cop flack after thousands of people were left stranded waiting for public transport ahead of the Opening Ceremony.
At the time, GOLDOC Chief Executive Mark Peters said spectators were “lunatics” if they expected things to run smoothly throughout the event.
Then, of course, there was the debarcle surrounding the Closing Ceremony when all the athletes were snubbed from the telecast and the ‘spectacular’ was criticised for being nothing more than an eisteddfod.
GOLDOC Chairman Peter Beattie admitted it was the fault of the board, apologising for the horrendous display.
