Govt to launch booking website for Covid vaccinations

Australia’s vaccine rollout is taking another step forward today, with the government set to launch a website for the next phase.

It’ll allow millions of Australias to book their vaccination appointments at local GP clinics from Monday.

Around 1,100 clinics are expected to take part around the country, and six million people will be eligible under the next phase.

Australia’s rollout continues to ramp up despite international concerns over the safety of the AstraZeneca jab.

A number of countries have paused their rollouts while they investigate a possible link between the vaccine and blood clots.

However, the European Medicines Agency has reiterated that there is so far no indication that there is a link.

Australian authorities also insist the vaccine is safe and there is no proof of a link.

Health Minister Greg Hunt is expected to reveal more information about the vaccine website today.
